Fiberfest

The Des Moines Weavers and Spinners Guild hosts Fiberfest each April in Des Moines, IA. Come enjoy classes, check out vendors with their weaving and spinning wares, see some Angora bunnies, or come for the camaraderie by meeting up with other fellow guild members and other fiber enthusiasts.

Entry fee: $5, free for class registrants

2024 Fiberfest Classes

The Des Moines Weavers & Spinners Guild is offering the following classes at the 2024 Fiberfest:

SAORI Weaving
Beginning Rigid Heddle
Beginning Drop Spindle
Card Weaving
Pin Loom (a Drop-In, Make & Take Workshop)
Kaleidoscope Technique using Bengala Mud Dyes (Sunday, 04/28)

The guild is excited to welcome special guest Minneapolis-based Chiaki O'Brien who will be teaching the "SAORI Weaving" class at Fiberfest! Come back on Sunday, April 28 for her class "Kaleidoscope Technique using Bengala Mud Dyes". Learn more about Chiaki here.

Line up and sign up your team of up to five members - spinners and weavers - for our first annual fleece-to-scarf competition.

$20/team to enter. Competition will take place at the Fiberfest on April 27, 2024.
